We had a chat with Rob Gerrish, owner of Gerrish Fuels, about his recent install of evoPOS, evoBackOffice and Tatsuno dispensers.
Tell us about your business?
We’re a family run business. My parents bought their first forecourt in 1978 in Ludgershall near Andover (when I was two years old!).Since then, we purchased two more sites, in Stonehenge and Amsbury. We’ve been with MURCO for 35 years and currently our shop brand is Nisa Co-op.
What made you change your pump and EPOS systems?
We were using legacy EPOS software, which is no longer being updated and was becoming clunky. The support for it was lacking, it just wasn’t working for us anymore. We were frustrated with our technology and support so decided it was time for a change.
We asked around the industry, and several companies recommended MADIC UK.
What changes have you made?
All three sites now have Tatsuno pumps with outdoor payment terminals, plus evoPOS and evoBackOffice. To enhance security and increase revenue recovery from drive offs etc, we added CCTV & ANPR with Metro Security.
How did it go and what are the business benefits?
From a nostalgia point of view, I loved that MADIC UK have retained staff that I knew thirty years ago in the industry – the experience shows!
From start to finish the service has been spot on. From planning through to the engineers on-site.
The staff find evoPOS easy to use and new members pick it up very quickly. They like the layout, and it just works – which makes life straightforward for us!
We went for a new HHT with connected SATO printer, although this meant we had to upgrade our WiFi, it allows us to quickly and easily print reduction labels on the shop floor. It makes reduced items flow better at the POS, as cashiers don’t have to key in price overrides.
We’re planning on turning our outdoor payment terminals on out of hours, so we can keep serving fuel 24/7, something that will really benefit our customers as well as ourselves.
The whole install has been a positive experience, and we would recommend MADIC UK to anyone.
