TLM deploy evoPOS across Park Garage Group’s estate

The Customer

Top 50 Indie Park Garage Group (PGG) is a family run business founded in 1975 with the acquisition of a single petrol station in East London. Since then PGG have expanded their estate to 49 convenience and fuel (C&F) sites in England, creating their Park and Shop brand in 2003. Taking a responsible role in their community PGG has raised significant amounts for the NHS and support a children’s home in Bangalore.

The Challenge

In 2020 PGG wanted to standardise and upgrade their EPOS solution across their entire estate as they were finding having a mix of older and newer POS systems inefficient. Streamlining their estate with a next-generation system which delivers great customer service and operational efficiency was critical in driving their business forward.  TLM technologies was already a trusted supplier – PGG having brought their support across to TLM in 2019.

The Solution

evoPOS installations began in July 2020, after lockdown was eased, and the project was completed over the following months.

Hemant Tandon, Operational Director at PGG said, “TLM’s engineers have been fantastic, making installations as smooth as possible. The support that has surrounded the project has been great. The Support Hub team have been easily accessible and taken time to explain and address any queries.”

evoPOS has a modern user interface which is designed to be intuitive – meaning that store operators often need little training. After a remote training session with Area Managers PGG found they didn’t need onsite training or further remote sessions.

“The change to evoPOS from our legacy system has been seamless. We haven’t had one call from a site asking us how to use the system. evoPOS is easy to use and that has kept it cost effective in terms of training and time.”

A swift customer journey whilst maintaining superb customer service is a central tenant to today’s convenience and fuel retailers. evoPOS has been developed with this core principle in mind and is easy to configure to businesses individual requirements.

“Being flexible, evoPOS has allowed us to adapt the POS to ensure ease of operation for our stores and has made the multi reason customer journey much quicker, driving increasing sales.”

Looking forward, PGG have chosen a future-proof solution. evoPOS is built on a modern open platform which means no painful wait for new functionality as enhancements can be written and released in a fraction of the time. It easily integrates with third-party applications such as loyalty and payment – enabling businesses to keep up with retail trends in a digital world.

TLM’s technology roadmap for its entire evolution product suite, including evoPOS, evoBackOffice and evoHeadOffice, is created with the C&F sector and industry experienced developers. The recent addition of TLM’s Forecourt Equipment Service  – makes us the ideal end-to-end technology partner for an expanding C&F business.

“We have got to know the TLM team well through the evoPOS project. We have a very good relationship with them and are impressed with the expertise and commitment from each area of the business – from engineers to project managers. We have a vision for the future and are excited to explore other products and services with TLM to bring this vision to fruition – simplifying and streamlining Park Garage Group operations further.”

Update 2021

evoPOS

In October 2021 PGG acquired 27 forecourt sites from EG Group – bringing their total number of forecourts to 76.  Our engineers converted all 27 sites to PGG within 24 hours and installed evoPOS to all 27 sites in just 30 days; so, by the end of November all PGG’s new sites were operationally streamlined to the group.

Pump Maintenance

At the start of 2021 PGG commissioned us to provide their pump maintenance service contract across their estate – further strengthening our partnership.

Hemant Tandon, Operational Director at PGG,

“We’re really happy with TLM’s response times to out of action pumps. The engineers are professional as well as impressively knowledgeable across a range of pumps.  They’re also able to support older, as well as newer models of dispensers. We have sites all over the UK and TLM engineers never seem to be far away!”
